Currumbin Sanctuary is an old favourite and one of the most popular tourist spots, as I remember my parents in a photograph with birds over their head and arms, when I was quite young. It has the reputation of being the very first major attraction on the Gold Coast.
You can touch a koala, feed the wild Lorikeets, watch the Free-flight Bird Show and the Kangaroos Feeding. See Aboriginals play didgeridoos and indigenous dancers perform in daily shows. There’s also the Green Challenge Adventure Park, a Wildlife Hospital, an extensive tree-tops ropes course, Wild Island, an outdoor adventure playground and interactive science activity zone, cafes and much more …
On this page are photos of Lorikeets taken in Currumbin in a series of different poses, some photos are digitally enhanced to bring up the colours while others have been deliberately left in their natural state.
